HPP is employed after the meat is sliced and packaged — so there is no opportunity for harmful pathogens and food spoilage organisms to re-enter the package, and no need for taste-altering preservatives. Hormel Foodservice offers three brands of HPP sliced deli meats — BREAD READY® sliced meats, NATURAL CHOICE® sliced meats and APPLEGATE® sliced meats — in a wide variety of ham, turkey, beef and chicken products.
