Hormel Foods meatball dish

If you’ve heard of “Eggs in Purgatory” you’ll want to check out this innovative alternative. Keep the bright tomato sauce and delectable herbs but swap the eggs for FONTANINI® Chicken & Beef Meatballs for an even heartier, indulgent, show stopping dish.

INGREDIENTS

Ingredients
  1. FONTANINI® Chicken and Beef Meatball (117628 or 126252)
  2. Marinara sauce
  3. Goat cheese
  1. Basil
  2. French baguette
Step 1

STEP ONE

Preheat oven to 375° F. Prepare a cast-iron skillet or Dutch oven.

Step 2

STEP TWO

Pour marinara into skillet and spread to cover.

Step 3

STEP THREE

Place five FONTANINI® Chicken & Beef meatballs in skillet, evenly spaced from each other.

Step 4

STEP FOUR

Place scoops of goat cheese on top of marinara, between the meatballs.

Step 5

STEP FIVE

Place skillet in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the goat cheese has melted and the meatballs turn a little darker than golden brown.

Step 6

STEP SIX

Garnish with chopped basil.

Step 7

STEP SEVEN

Toast a slice of French baguette.

Step 8

STEP EIGHT

Serve alongside bread–this dish is best enjoyed piping hot.
